The Fastest Fishing Kayak on the Market

Malibu Kayaks X-13 Fishing Sit On Top now in Canada at Yakfish Canada.com

*Above: Malibu X-13 fully rigged with 'Gator Hatch', 'X-Wing' Console with additional rod holders, rudder & Apex seat - all sold separately; see Malibu Accessories for details

The X-13 is the latest fishing machine from Malibu Kayaks joining the ranks of the top-selling sit on tops such as the Mini X and the X Factor.
The Malibu X-13 features 2 channels which run along the majority of the hull which give the kayak great tracking and speed. It features plenty of storage including a large rectangular centre hatch which is ideal for tackle or rod stowage. The rear tank well provides plenty of extra space including a small hatch making adding a rudder kit an easier operation.
The bow storage is unique to the X-13 in that it is separate from the rest of the kayak and has a scupper hole. This allows you to safely remove the hatch cover without risk of the boat filling up. The front hatch is designed as a wet/dry hatch. For better paddling performance, use a bung in the drainage hole which will raise the bow. To keep your prize catches safe and cool, remove the bung for the return journey.
The X-13 is fully customizable with accessories including the Gator Hatch child seat, X-Wing Sliding console, and Deluxe Apex 2 Seat.

The X13 is the best kayak I have owned. Fast, stable, reasonably dry, plenty of storage, and very well laid out. I weigh 100kg, and the kayak remains dry most of the time, but does have a habit whilst unde way of allowing water to flow through the seat scuppers causing a wet backside, but quickly drains away at rest. Storage is excellent, with the built in live well up front keeping my catch alive and fresh until I am ready to pack up and go home. Tank well is huge, as well as the famous large Malibu centre hatch. Weight is excellent being much less of a chore to load/unload than my Xfactor. Speed is exceptional, and have currently outpaddled a Prowler 13, Hobie Quest, Outback and Revolution. Holds location in even the strongest of winds, and very little correction required if any at all. I have often been accused of being at anchor. My X13 was one of the first production models, and had some moulding faults which the good folk at Malibu have acknowledged and asured me of a replacment asap which shows the excellnt service and warranty provided by Malibu. I have multiple Malibus, and this is the first real problem I had which Malibu has stood by thier best warranty in the industry and I look forward to my replacment.

We own several kayaks, but I wish we bought the X13 first.

It is much more comfortable than what we have in our other kayaks. I have also tried the Ocean Prowler and the Wilderness Tarpon and found the X13 better than either of them (it glides better, more comfortable seating and is much slower to drift offline in windy conditions).

Now, we fight over the X13 and will be checking out the rest of the Malibu lineup very soon to look into replacing our Ocean kayak.
